Rachel McElroy is put ‘on the spot’ in the Yorkshire Post!

Find out more about our fun-loving, gym enthusiast, Chief Marketing Officer Rachel McElroy who was recently put ‘on the spot’ in the Yorkshire Post.

What was your first job?

I worked in a restaurant kitchen washing up when I was 13 and then started waitressing at 14 – I had a lot of disposable income as a teenager!

If you weren’t in your current position what would you be doing?

I would be in a sales or customer-facing role – I like people and building relationships.

What was your worst mistake?

I couldn’t pick one ‘stand-out’, but I have had a few in my lifetime. I’ve always thought the trick is to learn quickly from them!

What is your ideal day away from the office?

Probably a really good restaurant with nice food, great wine, and a pleasant company!

Name one person you would most like to have dinner with and why?

My Nan. She was an amazing person – I miss her!

What was your best subject at school?

English – I had a good teacher and I’ve always liked learning and reading so it was a great subject for me.

What are your hobbies?

I like to spend time with my family and friends as often as possible. That could be anything from a good walk in the countryside to having a nice meal together. I like to get to the gym a few times a week too – I always find that’s a good way to switch-off and relax.

What would you do if you won the Lottery?

Make sure I could help all my family financially. I’d also pay off my mortgage and buy a place in the sun – near a beach!

What’s your favourite item of clothing?

Black jeans. I have to try to limit how much I wear them though because I have numerous pairs!

What is your favourite time of the day?

My mind is better in the morning – it’s a great time for me to kick-start my day in the right way.

What would you like your epitaph to be?

She talked a lot – but she got stuff done!
