A Year Of Changes..

At SG we can officially say we are an award-winning organisation. After a proud week of being awarded ‘Growth company of the year at The Leeds Digital Festival, it was humbling, to learn that we are shortlisted for two more awards. The Yorkshire Post – Excellence in Business awards, Company and Business Leader of the Year for David Bentley.

Home to our head office and considered as the fastest growing tech hub outside London, Yorkshire is a place SG holds very close to our hearts. To be considered and recognised by the Yorkshire Post who is recognised as a leading publisher is a fantastic achievement. We are very grateful for the feedback and congratulations from our fellow northern businesses, customers, stakeholders and partners; none of this would be possible without you.

Over the past 11 years, Solutionize Global has experienced significant growth. Made possible by a drive to be the best version of ourselves and an inclusive and people-focused culture of support. In the 4 years, I have worked within the organisation I have seen tireless amounts of hard work, dedication and commitment from our CEO and founder David Bentley and Deputy CEO Alex Wilkinson which cascades through the organisation. Their drive to align and be a true partner to our customers is what has made us successful. Behind the accolades and excitement, there is a real back story of hard work over many years to get to this point.

2020 has marked the culmination of an ever-changing journey. The senior leadership team and I have lived and breathed our core values, whilst ensuring we have communicated regularly and created a remote culture with a sense of belonging. Even though we are working remotely, we have never felt more connected as a team. As I reflect upon the past 7 months, I realise just how much we have developed as an organisation through this tough time.

Leadership is much more than a job title; it’s about a vision for improvement, a desire to empower the people around you, and a drive to make a difference.

I have really enjoyed virtually meeting and discussing the key themes of 2020/21 with respected leaders for our annual Whitepapers – Outstanding Leadership, Northern Powerhouse and Outstanding Leadership Defined. Learning about their challenges, their culture and how they have led through change has been truly inspiring. I hope to continue speaking with more like-minded, motivating and pro-active leaders.

As I look to the future, it is with positivity, the journey is not going to be smooth and businesses everywhere have many challenges to overcome. In challenging times there are still achievements to celebrate and that has to be at the forefront of leader’s minds when they reflect on how far they have come this year.
